Hello Mounties!
Student Activities and the Health and Wellness Center are starting a new annual tradition: Mountie Base Camp Day! We were inspired by the idea of Fresh Check Day, which is an event that is done on many college campuses. It will be a day to help prepare students to climb the mountain that is college. This will be a way to show students their supports and resources, especially surrounding resilience, wellbeing, and mental health. We want to show our students how strong our community is, so we would love participation from as many departments as possible!
Details: Our first annual Mountie Base Camp Day will be Monday, Sept 9, from 10-4 on the MAC Plaza. You don’t have to be present the entire time; we will take your help and support during whatever hours you have to offer!
What would you do? Any department that would like to participate will send representatives to host an activity related to resilience, wellbeing, or mental health at one of our booths. You can either come up with your own activity, or we can provide one for you! This will be a great way for students to get to know your department and/or services that you provide.
If you are interested in participating, please contact Jessi Quigley (jquigley@mtaloy.edu) by Friday, Aug. 30, to discuss details.
We look forward to hearing from you!
