Are you interested in a sport that is fun but also gives a sense of socialization and comradery? Then pickleball might be right up your alley! It is a fast-growing sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong. It’s played on a court similar in size to a badminton court, using a paddle and a plastic ball with holes (similar to a wiffle ball). It can be played as singles or doubles.
The game is known for being fun, social, and accessible to all ages and skill levels. It’s easy for beginners to learn, yet challenging enough to keep experienced players engaged. The smaller court size and slower ball speed (compared to tennis) allow for longer rallies and less running, making it popular among young people as well as older adults while still being exciting and competitive.
Pickleball has exploded in popularity across the United States and around the world due to its simple rules, low equipment costs, and inclusive community spirit.
Come join us and see what all the hype is about. All equipment will be provided. Please RSVP to Ann Booterbaugh no later than Monday, April 27th at ABooterbaugh@mtaloy.edu or X6412.
