This Thursday, Oct. 22, join Dr. Juan Diaz for the Fall Honors Lecture, where he’ll be leading attendees through an exploration of The Black Legend.
The Black Legend has contributed to hispanophobia globally since the 16th century. But what is it really, and where did it start? Did the Spanish Empire kill 90 million native Americans? Did the Spanish Inquisition burn tens of thousands of people, mostly women, at the stake? These and other topics about the Black Legend and Hispanophobia will be discussed in this seminar talk.
